Honeymoon in Chhattisgarh - One of the newest states in the Indian Union, Chhattisgarh with a 44% forest cover has a wealth of natural attractions just waiting to be explored. While the dozens of scenic and historic sites wait for world-class infrastructure to take shape, honeymooners on a budget can enjoy these at very affordable rates.
What does Chhattisgarh have to offer? In Bastar, you're in the heart of the tribal belt, endowed with thick forests, hills, streams, caves, waterfalls and natural parks. The adjoining districts of Dantewada and Kanker share an equally rich wealth of natural attractions. The Chitrakot waterfalls which drop 96 ft from the Indravati River, the Kotamsar and Kailash caves believed to be 3,300 million years old, and the Kanger and Indravati National Parks are excellent getaways from the teeming crowds at better known destinations.
Furthermore, the beauty of Kurschel Valley has not been sighted by many, and a honeymoon at this lovely retreat would be ideal if you're looking for solitude and isolation. The Bhairamgarh and Pamed sanctuaries are also within Dantewada. For places of historical interest, check out Barsur, the temple of Goddess Danteshwari, and Sirpur, the 6th century Buddhist centre.
Jagdalpur, its central town has charming greenery to match its pleasant climate and decent accommodation can be found at very reasonable rates. Jagdalpur is located 300 km from Raipur, the state capital, and is connected by a national highway.
